GUEST OF
HONOUR
Congratulations for the successful inaugural launch of Petrina Cup Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship.
In Malaysia, Rhythmic Gymnastics made its mark at the 1989 SEA Games as well as the memorable 1998 Commonwealth Games and since then it has only grown from strength to strength. It has gained wide popularity and following throughout the nation.
The all-time greats of Boxing, Mr Muhammad Ali once said, ‘’Champions are not made in gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them – a desire, a dream, a vision. They have to have the skill, and the will. But the will must be stronger than the skill”. I have seen firsthand how hard our athletes train daily and such determination needs to be celebrated and emulated. Our athletes are the perfect example for youth today and the Ministry of Youth and Sports will continue to highlight their praiseworthy ways.
I would like to commend Madam Petrina Low, a stalwart in the world of Malaysian Rhythmic Gymnastics and her committee for all their tireless work in creating a platform for future stars to emerge and providing meaningful learning opportunities for the athletes. Thank you to all the coaches and parents for your commitment to sports and in preparing our children to build the strong nation we want for Malaysia!
I wish you success.
